Crazy Racist Dude in Las Vegas

I was shooting a clip of Fremont Street early in the evening when some crazy, racist guy comes walking up running his mouth (look for him on the left side of the screen).

Carl Ferris on Fremont Street

Sax player Carl Ferris performing on Fremont street in Las Vegas!

Shipwreck in Grand Cayman

This is an underwater tour passing over a shipwreck. After this the movement of the boat and the magnified lens-windows made me nauseous!

Post-Game Images: Violence in Downtown | NBC Los Angeles

Check out this slideshow of photographs taken of the post NBA game rioting. Look for the picture of the guy proudly waving the Mexican flag as they loot the store. The people who commited these acts are trash!

Reggae Sunsplash 1982

Dancehall superstar Yellowman performing at Reggae Sunsplash in Montego Bay, Jamaica, in 1982. In 26 years I'd be on a bus driving right by that stadium!

Hurricane Rita Evacuation Videos

Starting with a clip I shot, I found these Hurricane Rita evacuation videos. People were still on edge from Hurricane Katrina when Rita came along. So naturally thanks to the doom and gloom news media people panicked and attempted to flee the Houston area in droves. I couldn't leave due to to my job so I stayed home alone and all I had was wind and some rain while these poor people were stuck, burning gas on our overcrowded highways.

This guy was on I-45 heading from Houston to Dallas.

This guy is on Veteran's Memorial (I think) trying to leave. He's hard to understand with the radio turned up.

Don't know where this guy is. He shot some night video (sans sound). He says he went 40 miles in 13 hours.

Penny's Diner

Shot in 2005 at Penny's Diner in Vaughn, New Mexico. It's a wonderful place to stop during a long road trip and have a bite to eat. Please excuse the interruption where I put the camera down to let a gentleman walk by who was waiting for me to take a picture (he didn't realize I was shooting video).

Belly Dancers

Two clips of the belly dancers at the Texas Rennaisance Festival.

Classic Car Show

A classic car show shot in 2007, at the blueberry festival in Nacogdoches, TX. As the video shows it was hotter than hell out there!

Driving Down S Flores Street

Shot in San Antonio, TX, back in 2008. I was looking for a restaurant and for some unexplicable reason my GPS took me out to a damn cow pasture via S. Flores street.

Inside terminal in Montego Bay, Jamaica 08.AVI

I shot this video inside the cruise terminal in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Just a scene of people milling about waiting on their respective buses, taxis, transports, etc. This was December of 2008, about two weeks before Christmas. The speakers were playing reggae Christmas carols. After I shot this I noticed a sign saying "No video taping inside terminal." Oops!

Drive Through a Bad Area

Driving through southwest Houston on a hot day. By amazing coincidence this song was on the radio. Thought it was appropriate!

Railroad Crossing Malfunction

Oddly enough this is my most popular video on youtube with over 100,000 views. I don't know why. This is the intersection of Antoine Drive and Hempstead Hwy. I shot it with an old cell phone since this was all I had.

Jamaica:Canadian tourist caught in crossfire with gunmen!

It's sad you can't truly explore Jamaica!

Mountain Curves Jamaica Part 1

Filmed by tourists who decided to make their vacation a true adventure by getting a car and driving themselves in the countryside of Jamaica. Whenever I get upset at Houston drivers I just remember Jamaican drivers and I feel better. Those people don't understand the concepts of lanes, and right-of-way! Imagine breaking down and having to hike through this countryside. It would be a lovely hike, but would be hot and dangerous!

Rainy Day in Burger Shack Georgetown, Grand Cayman 08.AVI

Personally this is one of my favorite videos. I shot this on a rainy day in Georgetown, Grand Cayman. My ex wife and I first ate here on our honeymoom back in 2002 and six years later made it back. I enjoy the reggae music set to this rainy scene of tourists and workers coming in for a bite to eat. Even though it was raining it was still a nice day!

God's Middle Finger

Richard Grant got bored and decided it would be interesting to go into dangerous places and write about them. He was absolutely right it is way more interesting than most of our mundane lives. In this book he decided to explore the Sierra Madre region in Mexico. This territory has always been a predominately lawless region frequented by the poor and criminals and wanted fugitives. Richard travels the region and meets an assortment of characters, some of whom try to kill him. I also recommend the chapter about the sex lives of narcotrafficantes. Who'd have thunk it?

Interesting footage from nearly 30 years ago at the funeral of Bob Marley.

Country Funeral (Manchester, Jamaica)(August 2009)(Pt2)

A funeral in Manchester, Jamaica.

Debut

Welcome to the Sedentary Traveller! Everyone carries to some degree a spat of wanderlust. People want to go to new places and see new things. However it isn't easy with life. Many times when we get to where we want to be we have no idea what we want to do. Then sometimes our adventure doesn't go as we wish and we have terrible experiences (though some will say there is no such thing as a bad travelling experience). With this I plan to bring pictures, videos, and links to other places and times for you to watch and imagine what's it like to be there. I hope you enjoy.
